If you haven’t heard yet, Sephora gives a birthday gift to members of their free loyalty program, the Beauty Insider.Beauty Insiders accumulate points for every purchase. If you become a Beauty Insider, you can get your birthday gift during your birthday month online or through the store. No purchase is necessary if you redeem your gift in store, but you need to buy something if you purchase it online.
It’s different sets each year. This year there are three choices for the birthday gift. First choice is the Tarte Birthday Gift set which includes a 1 mL Tartest Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Birthday Suit and 1.5 g Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Paaarty. The Caudalie Birthday Gift includes a 10 mL Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet and a 10 mL Vinoperfect Radiance Serum. Last but not the least, is the Jack Black Birthday Gift set, available only online, which includes a 30 ML Clean Break Oil-Free Moisturizer and a 30 mL Deep Dive Glycol Facial Cleanser. Since my birth month is January, I got to choose the Tarte Birthday Gift.
They also have weekly specials you can add for free to your order by using their promo codes. Minimum purchase is $25. I joined their Flash 2-Day shipping for only $10 a year. With the Flash, there is no minimum purchase required. Without the Flash, Sephora provides free 3 day shipping on orders over $50, and charges $5.95 for orders under $50. So far, so good. I have no complaints with their Flash service. I don’t have to buy $50 worth just to get one item I really like, and the shipping is fast, too. Anyway, back to the promo codes, they are usually for deluxe samples. Use promo code HBMAG for a two-year subscription to Harper’s Bazaar Magazine.
A deluxe sample I got is the L’Occitane Immortelle Divine Cream. It comes in a very cute container with 4 mL of the product. The regular size is at 50 mL for $110. I have not tried this product yet.
Another deluxe sample I got, from a separate purchase, is the Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior 2-in-1 Plumping Moisturize + Serum. Regular size of this product costs $95 for 50 ml. Same with the Creme Divine, I have not tried Kate Somerville yet.
In addition to all of these, Sephora also has product rewards for Beauty insiders every time they reach 100 points. I spent some of my points but will save them now for the bigger sets. I have received this L’Occitane Hand Cream in Amande as a product reward. It comes in 20 mL. The regular product comes in 30 mL and costs $12. It smells pleasant but unfortunately has not done significant difference to my hands.
Another product reward I received is a 3 ml tube of Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream. $26.50 for 0.5 oz. The sample I got is 0.1 oz and comes in a very bright orange tube. Great packaging. Will let everyone know if these products work after a while.
I also received a 10 mL jar of Belif The True Cream. $38 for 50 mL. It is scent free and a very thick cream. It felt tingly after I applied it on my hand.
Sephora also includes three free samples with every purchase. I tend to get perfume samples because they last more than one use. I did get a pleasant surprise because instead of one of the perfume samples I requested, I got this Diorshow Mascara in Pro Black 090 in 1.5 mL. $28.50 for 10 mL.
I received a sample of Hugo Boss The Scent. It’s for men, and it smells really good. Unfortunately, the little tube leaks.
The Elizabeth and James Nirvana Rose scent grew on me. I didn’t like it when I applied it on my skin, but after a few minutes, it smelled great.
The Paco Rabanne Olympea smells fine, but not for me.
Maison Margiela Replica by the Fireplace smells clean.
My favorite is Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming. I will definitely buy this perfume in regular size. It smells sweet without being overwhelming.
Sephora also has free makeovers and conduct free classes at the store. Visit your nearest Sephora now to check these events now!
Aside from Sephora, I also got a generous free sample from Shea Moisture online. It is the Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Shampoo, and the Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie and a $2 coupon.
I have been using some of Shea Moisture’s products, for me and for my child, and even though they might be a little expensive, they work really well, and the scent lingers without being overpowering.
