I recently discovered that Lowe’s hold clinics for kids to build different projects, free of charge! The latest Lowe’s Build and Grow Kids Clinic will be held on September 24, 2016, Saturday, at 10:00 AM. Kids will be making a Fire Boat to kick off Fire Safety Month. The event will be about an hour long, and in addition to the free Fire Boat kit, kids will also get an apron, goggles, and a Fire Boat patch.
There is a Waiver Form that needs to be printed, signed and turned in at the event. It basically states that you, as a parent, give permission for your child to participate at the event, and that you authorize and release all photographs they may take there. Also in consideration of receiving the free materials and supplies, you release Lowe’s of all liability for any injuries or accidents that may occur at the event. The waiver form also states your child must be present to receive the kit.
Arrive on time at the event. Lowe’s will only hold on to your reservation for 15 minutes past clinic time, after which, they will give your spot to walk-ins. You, parent or guardian, are required to stay with your children for the whole duration of the event. Kids are encouraged to figure out how to build the kit themselves, following the instructions given. Lowe’s employees are there to guide if necessary. Tools will be provided, and need to be turned in after the project is done. The kids will then receive their patches and certificates. The patches can be ironed to the aprons so kids can show off their accomplishments!
I am so excited to attend this event with my child! It would be a fun bonding moment. Follow up post will be about our experience.
Registration opened September 12, so hurry and sign up your kids, some locations are already fully booked!
